When you choose to publish with PLOS, your research makes an impact. Make your work accessible to all, without restrictions, and accelerate scientific discovery with options like preprints and published peer review that make your work more Open.

Institutional Account Participants

The following institutions have made arrangements with PLOS to pay the Article Processing Charges (APCs) on behalf of their researchers.

Only corresponding authors with institutional affiliation are funded. Institutions reserve the right to accept or reject who they will fund per their internal funding policies. For APCs in which the institution does not accept responsibility per their review, PLOS will invoice the authors individually.

Please note that some UK Institutions will only provide Open Access funding for publication costs associated with research projects that are funded by Research Council UK (RCUK), Charity Open Access Fund (COAF) or Wellcome Trust grants. The Wellcome Trust will refund Open Access publication costs related to their grants, even after the grant is closed. Beginning 1 April 2013, RCUK provided separate APC block grants to designated UK institutions to pay for Open Access publication costs. See below for institutions with such restrictions.

If you have any questions about the Institutional Account Program, please direct your questions via email to: InstitutionalAccounts@plos.org.

Contact your below Institution directly if you have questions on their internal funding policies under the Institutional Account program.
